Letter from District Commissioner

Firstly I hope you all had a very restful break from your units and that your batteries are fully recharged for the coming term

Congratulations & Thanks to you all for you support. I look forward to working with you to take the District forward.

Andrew Patton (District Treasurer)

Joe Clayton (District Secretary and Appointments Advisory Committee Secretary)

Janet Dodd (District QM)

Jayne Patton (District Badge Secretary)

Martin Rothwell and Jan Thompson are to continue to manage the district web site

Local Training Manager is Ken Smith

With the new Appointments process I have appointed Jennifer Turner as Chair of the Appointments Advisory Committee.

Some of the changes that  have  been  made so far are the moving of the district meeting from monthly to quarterly to coincide with the County DC’s meetings, and also to hold the meetings around the area, hosted by different groups at a venue of their choice, this will of course mean that meetings may well be on a different day of the week each time but I hope as many people as possible will try to attend, if you need transport to the meetings please let me know and I will sort out lifts. As with all things nothing is set in stone and we will from time to time reassess if running the meeting in this way is working and if people feel change is needed we will change. Your ideas and suggestions are most welcome regarding the meetings.

The process for all prospective new leaders is that I will visit them in the first instance then the relevant ADC will complete the CRB and Adult Application Forms. Once complete they will then be returned to me to process
Please pass on all names to me as soon as possible so the process can begin

May I take this opportunity to welcome all prospective new leaders and assistants to the district and I hope you enjoy your training as and when it comes up, I would also like to congratulate the following leaders on gaining their wood badge
Andrea Korkut - Steve Driver - Angie Johnson - Andrew Anderton – Tahira Parveen
Donna Emmett - Shane Hardicker - Donna Hardicker - Stuart Tattersall

 NIGHTS AWAY PERMIT

Any leader wishing to take their section on a pack holiday, sleepover or camp, must hold the relevant permit
The training for this permit should be done as soon as possible and application forms can be obtained from any of the section ADC’s or myself
Please complete the application form and return it to your relevant ADC so they can then arrange to take you through your permit.
For details of how the permit scheme works, please contact me.
